This class is designed for those who are new to Pilates and also for those with some experience. Pilates fundamentals and beginner/ intermediate mat exercises will be introduced. This is a dynamic and flowing style of yoga not commonly found in the Columbus area. Modifications are offered to accommodate the beginner yogi and the advanced alike. This style is based on the ashtanga principal of building internal heat as you find the connection between the asanas (physical postures), bandhas (internal locks), drishti (point of focus for the gaze), and ujjayi (a deep controlled diaphragmatic breath). These classes are designed to tone, strengthen and detox the body, increase balance and coordination, reduce stress and anxiety, and increase self-awareness.
