Groundwork for Exciting Changes

Roll Up Your Sleeves & Join other CFW volunteers!
Saturday, June 14, 2008
9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

We have planned a work day for Saturday, June 14th, from 9-12. We are launching a new look and have exciting plans for the Center’s physical facility this summer! The main goal this time will be repainting. This is in preparation for the installation of our new carpeting (coming soon!), and a variety of other planned aesthetic improvements. We will also be cleaning and weeding & replanting the outdoor area. In addition, there will be cleaning of the closets, cubbies, and storage chests.

If you’d love to come, send email asap to craigeroberts at cfwohio.org

Also, since we need to accomplish quite a bit, please consider asking a friend, a student, or a fellow yogi to join you. These work days have been a lot of fun and very satisfying in the past, and I think this one will be especially nice because it lays the groundwork for exciting changes.

If you’re attending, please bring a dish or munchies for a light pot-luck brunch, and tools for any chores you can think of. Over the meal, we’ll talk very briefly about the minutes and Center business and count this as our monthly meeting.

Look forward to hearing from you!

RESTORATIVE YOGA for the SUMMER SOLSTICE

Sunday June 22, 2008
6:30pm to 8:30pm

Throughout history, many cultures have associated the summer solstice with a renewal of mind, body and spirit. The longest day of the year is a celebration of the return of summer. It is an opportunity to activate and energize our intentions and develop ourselves as radiant, peaceful and strong beings.

This evening of Restorative Yoga will be a series of powerful yet, fully supported, passive yoga poses designed to promote stillness and tranquility. Through the use of blankets and bolsters, one experiences the yoga postures as profoundly relaxing and deeply rejuvenating. It is this utter surrender of all efforts that unlocks the body’s built in healing energy.

To enroll, contact Shannon at 740-407-7785 or send email to
info at mysticalmethods.com

Enrollment Fee: $30*
*Due to the popularity of this class, payment is required by June 15th.

Life Goes Om - Free Yoga to Cancer Patients

The Center is proud to begin partnership with the Life Goes Om Community Project. Life Goes Om lets people who are currently undergoing cancer treatments experience the mind, body, spirit connection through the practice of yoga. If you, someone you know, or someone you love, has ever experienced cancer you know the tremendous impact it has on your life. When you are in the middle of undergoing treatment for any type of cancer, it makes it very difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Life Goes Om project hopes to provide the space for healing of the body, mind, and spirit through the movement of yoga.
There is currently a network of 1000’s of Yoga studios around the United States that provide free access to yoga classes for cancer patients. When someone currently undergoing cancer treatment is looking for a studio in their area, they can do a search on the GreatYoga.com site and see all of the Life Goes Om participating studios. Which will now include the Center for Wholeness!

CHANT~ February 29 (leap into a new You!)

A modern sage has written “Chanting the name of God is yoga. It has great sakti. That sakti stills the mind and fills the heart with love. Chanting destroys worry and pain and creates joy. It purifies the atmosphere both within and without. It kills the germs of restlessness in the mind. Whoever chants God’s name with enthusiasm is filled with divine bliss.”

Come together with yogis and yoginis of all ages and
open your heart to the divine nectar of chanting!

When: February 29

Where: The Center for Wholeness 3408 Indianola Ave.

Time: 7-8pm
